Man of Action Entertainment is the bi-coastal writers’ collective behind comic’s largest franchise characters as well as original characters published by their Man of Action imprint at Image Comics. The four met while working on Marvel and DC most prized franchises from Superman to X-Men and realized that they were stronger together. Their original creations include Ben 10, the $4.5 billion boys’ action franchise for which they’re also executive producing the new iteration, and Generator Rex, both for Cartoon Network. Dentsu handpicked them to create/write/executive produce the all new Mega Man series that debuts on Cartoon Network next year. Man of Action launched Disney XD’s Marvel’s Ultimate Spider-Man and Marvel’s Avengers Assemble as EXP/writers. Man of Action also created the characters and team Big Hero 6, featured in Disney/Marvel’s Academy Award®-winning feature and the only comic book IP to win that award.
In comics, Casey is known for his Eisner Award-nominated cosmic superhero epic, Gødland. His critically-acclaimed run on the series Wildcats and Automatic Kafka landed on numerous “best of the decade” lists. His genre-busting cult-favorites Officer Downe and Butcher Baker The Righteous Maker helped propel him onto MTV.com’s list of the 10 best writers of 2011. In 2013, Casey launched Sex, his current series from the Man of Action imprint at Image Comics. Sex previewed in Playboy and led to the creation of his one-shot comic, Modern Romance, for the magazine’s prestigious 60th anniversary issue, complete with a cover byline. Casey debuted The Winternational as his first digital comic for the new Stela app last year and his sports-oriented strip, Crunch Time, for the Stela app. This year, Casey will debut two new Man of Action/Image comics and a new book: All-America Comix, featuring a new superhero creation, America Vasquez; New Lieutenants of Metal, about a precision strike force militia of mayhem; and Annual, a book featuring new and more rare recent work by Casey. In addition, Lion Forge’s Catalyst Prime debuted his Accell series. His other recent comic book series include The Bounce and Valhalla Mad, from the man Comics Alliance described as “the most dangerous man in comics.” Casey’s Officer Downe feature film debuted last winter with Casey as the creator/screenwriter/producer based upon his original graphic novel of the same name. Man of Action Entertainment is also producing the feature film I Kill Giants.
