Steve has been offered the plum gig of writing the ongoing Superman comic book. But when his father disappears, Steve is confronted by his family’s secret – a never-discussed history of Huntington’s Disease and the possibility that he and his father might have it. Desperate to track down his father and explain his reluctance to have children to his girlfriend, Steve is also outrunning his arch-nemesis: an editor breathing down his neck for the unfinished Superman story he owes.
