Hiber-Nation..?

Posted by Joe Kelly on October 22, 2006

Things are looking awfully quiet on the ol’ MOA Blog, aren’t they? Does it mean a critical work slow down? Have the gears of progress rusted to a halt? Has the machine of world domination that is Man of Action broken down by the side of the information überhighway?!?

Hell’s no. A pimp slap to you for even entertaining the thought!

October ushers in ghosts and demons, the crinkle of falling leaves, and the last big work push before Hollywood “shuts down” during the impending holidays. While the paradigms for pitching and production have evolved over the last decade, it’s still the unwritten law that nothing gets done between Thanksgiving and New Years Day, so we’re gathering our creative acorns and stuffing them into as many trees as possible before this metaphor runs cold with winter’s frost! We’re busy, bee-yatch!

What about that “big news” we’ve been talking about? Papers have been signed, and you’ll get the full scoop about it in about TWO WEEKS.

Oh, and there’s the new option with a major animation studio too…Lawyers are doin’ their thing. If it hits before the great hibernation begins, you’ll find out here!

Me, I’m putting the finishing touches on the script for I Kill Giants, which has been reformatted into an 8 issue mini and goes into production in November. I’m also working on a pitch for a new book featuring guns, girls, gangsters, and the Tango…more on that soon! Douglas Fredricks and the House of They, my first children’s book, is completely colored, and currently searching for a home. And if that isn’t enough, I’m finishing up that short film I’ve been pecking at, Brothers’ Day, all while continuing to write Supergirl and various and sundry animation projects.

But a nap? A vacation? A respite from the grueling demands of a Life of Action?

Never…I can nap when I’m dead.
