Bizarro Producer #1 say, "Best Story Ever!"
Posted by Joe Kelly on October 27, 2006
Recommended for all people who love life, liberty, alternate universes, doppelgangers, cruise ship dining, Batman and Superman in compromising positions, and most of all, irreverence: The Batman Superman Annual. Written by me, with art by Ed McGuinness, Sean Murphy,Carlo Barberi, and rising star Ryan Ottley (Invincible)!
A chuckle in comics is rare these days, gang. Get it before it sells out. Read it with someone you love. Or as an alternative to offing yourself - reading this book will give you something to life for. If you hate it, you'll make it at least another month or so on the fuel of anger.
Hee!

Hiber-Nation..?
Posted by Joe Kelly on October 22, 2006
Things are looking awfully quiet on the ol' MOA Blog, aren't they? Does it mean a critical work slow down? Have the gears of progress rusted to a halt? Has the machine of world domination that is Man of Action broken down by the side of the information überhighway?!?
Hell's no. A pimp slap to you for even entertaining the thought!
October ushers in ghosts and demons, the crinkle of falling leaves, and the last big work push before Hollywood "shuts down" during the impending holidays. While the paradigms for pitching and production have evolved over the last decade, it's still the unwritten law that nothing gets done between Thanksgiving and New Years Day, so we're gathering our creative acorns and stuffing them into as many trees as possible before this metaphor runs cold with winter's frost! We're busy, bee-yatch!
What about that "big news" we've been talking about? Papers have been signed, and you'll get the full scoop about it in about TWO WEEKS.
Oh, and there's the new option with a major animation studio too...Lawyers are doin' their thing. If it hits before the great hibernation begins, you'll find out here!
Me, I'm putting the finishing touches on the script for I Kill Giants, which has been reformatted into an 8 issue mini and goes into production in November. I'm also working on a pitch for a new book featuring guns, girls, gangsters, and the Tango...more on that soon! Douglas Fredricks and the House of They, my first children's book, is completely colored, and currently searching for a home. And if that isn't enough, I'm finishing up that short film I've been pecking at, Brothers' Day, all while continuing to write Supergirl and various and sundry animation projects.
But a nap? A vacation? A respite from the grueling demands of a Life of Action?
Never…I can nap when I'm dead.

Check it out. Dave Johnson's cover for the third issue of the AVENGERS: EMH2 mini-series. Truly a thing of inspired beauty.
Sometimes I really do love this job...

Mad Pimpin' on a Saturday Morn'
Posted by Joe Kelly on October 6, 2006
A heads up to fans of finely crafted animated tales that this Saturday, not one, but yes, TWO shows that I wrote will be airing on a electronic story box in a living room near you.
On Cartoon Network, check out Fantastic Four: World’s Greatest Heroes at 11:00am Eastern for “My Neighbor was a Skrull”. It was a pretty fun episode, if I do pimp so myself, and I’ll be there with a big bowl of sugar-coated crack cereal watching it with you! Check the schedule here!
And on your local Fox affiliate, tomorrow sees the series premiere of Chaotic, which I wrote as well. I also story edit the series, so tell your friends and neighbors so that the program opens big and my children can eat for another few months. More info here!
As threatened, there’s a lot more news to come soon, so keep checking in! See you on Saturday!
